Techiadd wants everyone to be able to read our journalism, whatever device they use and whatever their abilities. This page describes our commitment to digital accessibility, what we do to meet it, and how to get in touch if something on techiadd.it.com does not work for you.
Our commitment
We aim to make our website usable for as many people as possible, including readers who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technologies. We treat accessibility not as an add-on but as part of building the site well, and we work towards the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level as our reference standard.
What we do
In building and maintaining the Site, we try to:
- Use clean, semantic HTML and a logical heading structure so content is easy to navigate.
- Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Maintain sufficient colour contrast between text and background, and support a dark and light reading experience.
- Ensure the Site can be navigated and operated with a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
- Use readable type and a responsive layout that works across phones, tablets and desktops, and that respects browser zoom and text-resizing.
- Label links, buttons and forms clearly so their purpose is obvious.
Accessibility in our journalism
Our commitment to accessibility also shapes what we cover. When we review products, we consider how accessible they are to people with disabilities, because we think that is part of a product’s quality. You can read more about that on our Diversity & Inclusion page.
Where we know we can improve
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a finished state. Some older content, embedded third-party material, or advertising provided by partners may not yet meet our standards. We keep working to identify and fix barriers as we find them, and we welcome being told where they are.
Tell us about a problem
If you encounter a barrier on our Site, or you need content in a different format, please tell us. Email editorial@techiadd.com with the page and a short description of the problem, and the assistive technology or browser you were using if you can. We take this feedback seriously and will do our best to put things right and to learn from it.
